What have our elected officials become? Are they puppets or our paid employees?
When I was in private practice, my employees had to respect their "boss." Apparently almost no one in Congress respects the president or those who elected them to do a proper job. I was really incensed hearing that House Speaker John Boehner and others like him rejected the bill to aid the people hurt by Superstorm Sandy.
These are elected officials who are supposed to help people in need and help in the reconstruction of homes and businesses destroyed by Sandy. Do we have any recourse to make these recalcitrant individuals do their jobs?
I think impeachment would be in order or severe sanctions in their pay and perks of their office. Maybe, never allowing them to hold office in the future would send a message.
Is our country being held hostage by Republicans? Why has this urgent topic been put on the back burner?
It is obvious that the tea party wants to show its power. Who are they to withhold aid to deserving and needy citizens?
This is against all human decency.
If enough loyal citizens object, maybe something could be accomplished by ejecting these individuals from public service, now and in the future.
