President Barack Obama's presentation of his recommendations to deal with the perceived gun problems showing him surrounded by angelic children is at least inappropriate if not also perverse.
Either his suggestions are worthy on their own merit or they are not. Putting children there was nothing more than providing props to emphasize perhaps that which was not worthy on its own.
There are many in this country who view President Obama's actions as a way to either weaken the Second Amendment or to get around it. He is politicizing the tragic events of Newtown, Conn. Sadly, none of what he proposes, save for better background checks that should include mental stability evaluations, will stop the types of atrocities that occurred in Aurora, Colo., or Newtown.
