While there are many problems with the new gun law in New York, the seven-bullet clip requirement does the most to destroy our rights under the Second Amendment.
I get tired of hearing lawmakers say, "It doesn't take more than seven bullets to kill a deer." Since when was the Second Amendment about hunting?
The real reason they voted in the seven-bullet restriction had nothing to do with the so-called assault rifles. Instead, this restriction makes a large percentage of the handguns in America illegal to be sold in New York. Yes, our esteemed lawmakers slipped that one by their constituents.
Bad guys will always have the gun of their choosing. If they come to your home in the middle of the night, I hope you have the right to defend yourself. Words aren't effective against a well-armed assailant. Thanks to our lawmakers, you are no longer as safe as you once were.
