Kudos for "Is it too late to save Earth?" (Jan. 28). However, it is humans and many other life forms that are at risk, not our planet.
The article notes, "Experts said it is technically feasible to halt such changes by nearly ending the use of fossil fuels." If we care about our children and future generations, we will do this.
Where is the will to act? Where is the hope?
Take heart: Locally, many are preparing for fossil fuel independence and community resilience. You can join in on the joyful work at Our Energy Independence Community, Transition Troy, (http://tinyurl.com/a8u6oq3) and the Capital District Transition Network (http://tinyurl.com/9wh9qew), to name a couple of places.
With eyes open and sleeves rolled up, we can do this.
