Having millions of guns around does not contribute in a positive way to the quality of life in our country. We should be evolving as a civilized culture to higher grounds. Living in a gun culture society where everyone needs to own guns is not progress.
It is 2013, and I support policies beneficial to enriching our lives now and into the future. I support gun restriction laws. I want everything possible done to keep guns from criminals. I believe having assault weapons around is irrational, and I support restrictions on ammunition. I support any efforts to decrease violence.
I was in the Vietnam War and experienced firsthand a gun culture, violence and a war mentality (us against them). This mind-set coupled with fight vs. flight only led to increased fear and violence.
Many gun owners support rational gun restrictions. I would like to see more of them express their views to counter gun owners who want no restrictions and who believe everyone should be armed with weapons as though we are in a war zone.
