I hope the school districts that have decided to dump the federal lunch aid program are prepared to compare the number of obese children in their districts to the districts sticking with the federal guidelines.
Even though the decision to increase portions flies in the face of studies showing that portion sizes are a big part of the problem, I would argue that the districts sticking with the program, spoiled kids notwithstanding, understand that childhood obesity is a life-long problem.
Maybe if children ate a healthy breakfast, they would be satisfied with a healthy lunch.
