Thank you for your editorial explaining and supporting the Reproductive Health Act provisions of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's women's equality agenda ("A Senate snag on women's rights? Feb. 3).
How agonizing it must be for a woman to discover late in her pregnancy that her health is in danger.
Shouldn't she be able to make decisions about her pregnancy based on what she and her doctor conclude is best for her and her family? Why should the government intervene in such a personal and tragic misfortune?
It shouldn't. New York's current law on abortion needs to be changed. Leave the decision up to the woman, her doctor and her family. Gov. Cuomo's agenda would take the government out of that picture, which is right where it ought to be.
