During President Barack Obama's State of the Union, he skillfully used examples to get across various points of his agenda. Yet, when he got to gun control, not one word was mentioned about the recently enacted NY SAFE Act.
Not one word about it being a brave move on the part of the governor. Not one word about judiciously exercising executive powers to address the imminent danger New York was facing. Not even a word about NY SAFE being a model for other states to follow.
Wouldn't this have been the perfect example for the president to use to strengthen his message? Or could it be that our New York elected officials didn't get it right?
