Thank you for Eileen Riley-Hall's commentary ("The kids who get left behind," Feb. 3). This article says it all. Everyone should read it carefully.
I am a retired elementary teacher who is appalled at the actions of the state Education Department and Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the decisions being made.
I encourage everyone to heed the words of this educated, experienced, caring young woman who is making a difference for the good of all. These children are our "tomorrow." Education is the key. Testing is not education.
I have been involved in standardized testing in the classroom. It is a waste of precious time, effort and the taxpayers' money.
