Our outrage at the bombings at the Boston Marathon must be joined with our outrage at President Barack Obama. He saw this as an event and refused to call it terrorism. And he wants to know why the bombers did what they did.
But there is no "why."
Whoever did it, and whoever abetted them, deserve our swift retribution, regardless of any motive. To indicate we should care why suggests there may be a legitimate reason justifying the act, and that we cannot condemn until we understand the motivation of the terrorists.
