Alex Yatsevitch's splendid letter ("Drone strikes flout due process," April 3) explains why drone attacks are carried out in violation of legal "due process." Simply put, it is not legal or humane to kill people who just happen to be in the area of the bombing.
Since 9/11, our country has disregarded legality. Certainly, the rounding up of the 400 or 500 "suspects" (either by our intelligence or by the many locals seeking our generous rewards) was a knee-jerk reaction at best.
Keeping them for more than a decade without charges of crime hasn't been our country's "finest hour."
