Seriously? State Sen. Shirley Huntley pleads guilty to stealing $88,000 from taxpayers and she gets a year and a day as punishment ("Bias a factor in probe," May 10)?
A kid who steals a pound of bologna gets more time. It seems as though hardly a day goes by that we do not hear one judicial figure or another bemoan the loss of respect that their system has endured in recent years. Well, judges, here it is: The weak and defenseless get pounded into the dirt while the rich and powerful walk free.
Don't you get it?
