Although the death of the Siberian husky named Lois (as reported in "Trooper's error deadly for Lois," June 6) is a tragedy, let's not forget the ultimate responsibility for the situation rests not with the trooper but with the owner of the dog.
The owner's statement that he will be "seeking justice for Lois" is a crass way of saying the owner is looking for money from the State Police. Perhaps if the owner hadn't been driving while talking on his cellphone or driving with a license suspended, none of this would have happened.
If the owner does get "justice for Lois," he can use the proceeds to get a hands-free telephone and pay off his tickets.
