Letter: Try consolidating administration

Once again, with regard to the Albany City School District, the Yiddish word "chutzpah" ("brazen nerve" or "audacity") comes to mind.

After I and a majority of Albany citizens voted in favor of the recent school budget, we learn two music teachers at Albany High School received pink slips.

At the same time, the district is looking to hire four administrators. It has been noted that these administrators would not be at the high school.

Therefore, I suppose, the citizens of Albany should be placated. I, for one, am not.

The high school and the district need those music teachers, because students benefit from their instruction.

If the district feels the music needs of the students can be consolidated, then the same should be said of their administrative needs.
