Times Union editorials are almost laughable in their predictability, endorsing the leftist/progressive agenda at every turn.
Sunday's editorial ("A radical position, indeed," June 9) was not amusing, however.
The claim that pro-life legislators are cowards for standing for their beliefs in the face of a bullying governor and a ridiculing media is beyond ludicrous.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is the coward. The all-or-nothing presentation of his proposal is the epitome of cowardice. Let the Legislature vote on each of the 10 sections individually and let them stand or fall on their own merits.
Governor Cuomo is not brave enough to take that chance; and I know he won't because of his slavish devotion to the abortion advocates in his quest for the presidency. He and his predecessors have made New York the abortion capital of America, which is a rather sad and dubious distinction, I must say.
I'm hoping the pro-life legislators stand their ground and enough others join them to defeat the Women's Equality Act in its entirety. Then, as suggested, let it be voted on separately.
