Our system of government may not be perfect, but it is the best in the world.
There are endless complaints by the far left and far right as to why their views are not enacted in law. When our system works best at the state and federal level is when we have one of the three branches of government controlled by the opposition party. Total control by either party will always produce some legislation that is going to favor the fringe elements. This is rarely good for the majority of the population.
Here in New York, it is especially difficult to have balance in our state government because registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans about 2-to-1.
In order to continue to support the views of the majority, there needs to be approval of legislation that will generate private-sector jobs. The alternative is continued legislation that requires an increase in revenue that will not be available.
