Since I'd already been following developments about Google Glass, the eyeglass Internet device, your June 27 article "Her mission: pick out the bugs" caught my eye. While I'm certain that as a beta tester Diana de Avila will use Google Glass in a responsible manner, it doesn't take much imagination to see where the technology is heading.
As it is, we all see drivers using their phones to text and message by holding devices below window level to avoid law enforcement scrutiny. Imagine what it will be like in few years when people are using eyeglass computers to read texts, weather reports and Facebook news feeds while sharing the road with pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers.
In the same issue of the paper you reference a New York Times editorial that suggests banning all non-emergency communication while driving. It's unfortunate that point of view from your small commentary wasn't incorporated into the large feature article.
