Spare us your outrage (Allison Newman's letter to the editor, "RPI's Jackson is an asset to region," July 19). Anyone leading an institution as important as RPI, and who makes as much money as Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, RPI's president, can expect to be caricatured in our community paper. I am grateful to the Times Union for keeping us abreast of her salary and the other facts published in the article, whether in a context that you appreciate or not.
