Your article on the move by Kahr Arms from Rockland County to Pennsylvania illustrates the cause and effect of New York's dysfunctional government ("A safe move out of the state," July 2).
Frank Harris, Kahr's vice president of sales and marketing, made it clear the substance of the SAFE Act was not the reason for moving the business out of New York, but rather the method by which the law was enacted.
The arrogance of our governor and the lock-step support he won from the majority of our legislators to approve the SAFE Act, even without reading it, was enough to scare 100-plus private-sector jobs out of New York. This type of behavior by our elected officials only contributes to New York's anti-business reputation.
