A while back, I was published in these pages praising President Barack Obama for tracking down Osama bin Laden. It's unfortunate that this level of leadership doesn't extend to other areas of the military.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has been relentlessly hounding military leaders to address the scourge of sexual assault in the armed forces to little effect. I hope she finds enough support to get a bill passed that will force our stubborn military leaders to finally accept that all of their efforts to address this very serious issue have been futile.
As the commander in chief, I am in awe that President Obama has not taken a stance on this issue. As the father of two girls, you would think that this would easy. Take a stand, Mr. President, for once in your presidency and say that you are 110 percent against sexual assault in the military and back the senator's efforts.
