I am a Vietnam veteran and I just wanted to say "thank you" to all the businesses and people who went out of their way to show and to thank all us veterans for our service to our country. I was very proud to serve this great country, and I appreciate the recognition of service.
So many businesses offered discounts and free meals. We went to the Golden Corral for dinner, and we had the opportunity to chat with some wonderful folks while waiting in line and sat with another couple for dinner. We had a nice dinner and some great conversation. The restaurant made an announcement, thanking all the veterans for their service, the place erupted in applause. It was a beautiful experience.
I hold Veterans Day very preciously and I know that a lot of veterans appreciate the thank-yous.
The businesses that gave discounts and meals should feel special.
We will remember you when we make purchases or go out for dinner.
