I was very disappointed while watching the vice presidential debate. As a Democrat who has been around since Franklin Delano Roosevelt and as a stalwart party supporter, I was very put off the way Joe Biden handled himself.
You would think a vice president and former senior senator would better present himself. Biden's smirks and his interruptions of Sen. Paul Ryan were very irritating. I should have been cheering for Biden, not Ryan.
With President Barack Obama needing all the votes he can get, Biden didn't help one bit in the debate. Even the media picked up on his predatory demeanor, calling him the "happy warrior." Ryan was the gentleman from Wisconsin.
Biden did a disservice to the president, the Democratic party and the nation. When a man of Biden's stature is representing the president and the country to the world, he should exemplify the dignity of the high office that he holds in the manner of a gentleman instead of a buffoon.
