While reading the letter from Bob Bethel ("Bible denounces gay relationships," Oct. 31), he seems to have forgotten the separation of church and state.
Not everyone has his Bible-thumping views and, quite frankly, I am getting tired of all these right-wingers pushing their God views. Nothing sounds like they are spewing hatred more than quoting the Bible and saying, tell your family "to look out for the gays."
If we want to see how living in a religion-controlled country would be like, take a look at the Middle East. How is that working out for people?
Politicians should have moral standards, but they can leave their religions out of the decision-making process.
