It has come to my attention in the wake of our recent national election just how childish and petulant a society we have become.
Quite obviously in the popular vote, but not in the Electoral College, the presidential race was close. What has taken me aback, though, is the need to strike back by members of the party that lost.
I serve on industry-related boards and enjoy many levels of relationships with members of my political party as well as those in the opposition party. We trade witty barbs, often on golf courses and in other social settings, but always in good nature.
After the outcome of Tuesday's election, I received a rather caustic message from an acquaintance stating we would no longer have any sort of social interaction because of his candidate's loss.
This reeks of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's obstructionist and non-cooperative ways. (I'd like to note Mr. McConnell will not get back into office in 2014).
Society is fed up with vitriol and sophomoric behavior. For the love of yourself, your country and your fellow man or woman, grow up.
