Letter: Obama's 2nd act will be something

"2nd act for Obama" read the headline Nov. 7, the day after the presidential election. After a performance that saw nearly half the audience walk out, President Barack Obama, the thespian-in-chief, is undertaking to play the president again.

Early reports from rehearsals indicate he is refusing to learn any new dialogue, and it seems we may get a rerun of Act 1. You remember how Act 1 was publicized, don't you? We were promised an administration that would be transparent, fiscally prudent and bipartisan. After opening night, someone rewrote the script and what we got were secret deals on the health care act, massive deficits and borrowing, and a chief executive who loves the perks of office but not the actual work involved.

This resulted in chronic unemployment, $5 trillion added to the national debt, $4-a-gallon gasoline, Solyndra, the Benghazi fiasco, and other calamities.

However, his devoted fans loved his performance and think he should get an award of some kind. An Oscar or an Emmy would go swell with his Nobel Peace Prize.

Bill Clinton could be a strong competitor for an acting award, though, for his performance trying to make us believe he likes Mr. Obama.

For those folks who didn't walk out, then bought tickets for Act 2, I hope you enjoy the tax increases that are sure to come, the increase in health insurance premiums, the increased cost and rationing of health care, the increased cost of fuel for your car and heating your home, and many more surprises. Didn't Mr. Obama say none of that would happen? Unfortunately, it is all an act.
