Congress seems to be divorced from the reality that its actions contributed to the $16 trillion debt. Our lawmakers cannot manage the taxpayers' money.
They seem to be ignorant of the consequences of what they have created and don't have the initiative to correct it, or they want us to go over the "fiscal cliff" because taxes then will be forced to go up, which will provide more revenue.
Congress should be embarrassed by its failure, running us into an astronomical debt and not being able to solve the big problems plaguing our country.
Where is the accountability? One gets the feeling that these people are only there to win the next election.
Greed for power and votes blinds them. It blinds them from cutting spending, creating jobs, getting the economy back on track, and addressing government waste and fraud.
Our government cannot continue to support more and more people and programs. With fewer people willing to work, our government now is reaping what it has sown. The taxpayer is stuck with the consequences.
How will we explain the irresponsible debit our government has created to future generations that will be stuck paying for it?
