2012: The year in cartoons

What a year. President Barack Obama still has his job. Mitt Romney might have a job, but not the job he coveted. His

fellow Republicans just didn't get it when it came to issues like contraception and who ought to pay for it. New Yorkers with the lowest-paying jobs of all couldn't get a raise. The state Senate saw to that. College graduates found that their high-priced education doesn't necessarily mean gainful employment. Hydrofracking and whatever jobs it might bring to New York hasn't been approved — not yet, anyway. Closer to home, the fate of the Albany County Nursing Home was as sensitive an issue as ever. All this, as seen and drawn by John de Rosier, the Times Union's former editorial cartoonist. His final cartoon really hit home. It was about his own loss of a job.
