The ultimate question in the gun debate is whether one's perceived "liberty" to choose whatever weapon one wants, considering the Second Amendment right to bear arms, supersedes the rights to "life" and "the pursuit of happiness" of the general population.
In my opinion, certainly not. However, I can easily see the answer will have to come from the Supreme Court, and that it will enrage part of our population. I expect the court decision will be challenged for many years. The issue is highly emotional, as we are experiencing it.
