Due to the sequestration, the Federal Aviation Administration may have to shut down up to 238 "lighter traffic" air traffic control towers across the country.
I don't like that these employees are going to be hurt or that passengers are going to be inconvenienced, but what about safety?
What happens when one of the planes has a problem as it's being landed by a pilot without that control-tower backup? Are we hoping the passengers will call 911 to get help?
I understand some sequestration cuts like this one are a ploy to put pressure on those who are unwilling to act on this sequester issue. Who are these "mis-representatives" we have in Congress?
Maybe if the airports marked for these cuts were the ones these congressmen and women used, they might get the message.
