It takes courage for individuals to stand up to their local government, corporate interests and, for some involved, their church leadership.
Win or lose, the members of the group Citizens for St. Patrick's in Watervliet are champions for fighting the good fight to maintain the historic structure, formerly St. Patrick's Church, as well as the integrity of the neighborhood where a development for a Price Chopper is planned.
Only a few weeks ago, it looked as though Citizens for St Patrick's was down for the count. Not so. Count me among those who appreciate all of their efforts.
