While entertaining, I found "Turbulence over music in terminal," July 14, a bit off the mark.
As a frequent flier to Florida, there are more worthy issues to address at Albany International Airport besides the genre of music piped through the speakers.
Our airport has at least six security checkpoint conveyance stations, yet I've never seen more than two that are staffed at any one time. Instead, I see more stanchions, and lines that span across the pedestrian bridge. I sometimes sense that the extremely kind airport ombudsman wants to jump over the tape and help.
Another issue is baggage claim. Again, our airport has three nice baggage carousels, yet rarely is more than one ever placed into service. Instead, passengers wait for one flight's baggage to cycle through before airport workers place another flight's baggage on the same carousel.
Like Doug Myers, the airport's director of public affairs, I'm an old radio guy, too. But I have no particular preference over the type of music airport patrons are hearing; I just want to hear less of it.
