The United States should not get involved in Syria. Our president says he wants to "take a shot across Syria's bow" for its use of chemical weapons. The main motivation for that is for President Obama to follow through on his drawing the "red line" that Syria must not cross.
Are we to believe President Obama made that dare after thoughtful consideration of the consequences? If so, then why are we told this will just be a short-lived event when it will most likely lead to a much greater Middle East war? Are the American people so naive to believe that we can just throw a few missiles into Syria and then walk away from whatever happens next?
Where is the plan for next steps? What is our goal? Is it just for the president to save face? The whole issue really comes down to one man's ego and vanity. This is just another Washington politician who loves to get in front of a camera and act like he is saving the world.
There is no strategy or guiding principles. There is no end game. There is no intelligent leadership. The whole thing seems to be treated like some kind of video game where politicians can sit in a command center and watch the fireworks. This would be just another President Obama failure except this time it will end up costing the lives of our sons and daughters. The world and America need to hold the president accountable for speaking without thinking.
