I want to thank Gov. Andrew Cuomo for continuing to back the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. New York also gave generous rebates for residential solar and wind installations again this year, making it possible for me and thousands of others to reduce our energy use, and our state still remains frack free, despite tremendous pressure from the gas industry.
I'm hoping the governor will build on this strong foundation to implement a grand vision of New York as the alternate energy capitol of the country. Such a vision would bring more good-paying, long-term jobs to our region than any amount of destructive drilling, without endangering natural resources or human life.
