In his letter ("Resort sympathy a bit suspicious," Oct. 24), Michael Foxman asks why anyone but a misanthrope would donate to an Adirondack preservation group.
Our Adirondack Park is a patchwork of public and private land. As a combination of nature and people, the park allows visitors and residents to appreciate its towns and landscapes. Thus the park and people need each other. Think of this as an active partnership.
I enjoy visiting Essex County. As a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club, I donate to that group to preserve and enhance the area so that people can come and enjoy it. I urge like-minded individuals to do the same.
