With education costs putting such a financial burden on students, I was dismayed to see Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute president Shirley Ann Jackson is making $2,340,441 a year while the median college president's salary is ridiculous enough at $396,588 ("RPI's Jackson among top-paid college leaders," Dec. 10).
I have seen comments from those responsible for giving her this amount that say "she's worth every penny."
She may be a great fundraiser, but I'm sure many of the median-salaried presidents are also.
