Isn't it a shame the deadline for the "fiscal cliff" wasn't in the first week of October?
Had "the most unproductive Congress in modern history" faced this deadline then, I wonder how many would have been re-elected?
Our lawmakers are not stupid; they planned it this way so they could close up shop in October, beat it back home to campaign for their own re-election, and leave piles of unfinished business — the budget, taxes, farm policy and saving the U.S. Postal Service from insolvency.
Here we sit for yet another month of whining and posturing in which they try to make it look like they're working for us and have the interest of the people in mind. And, here we are, stuck for another term.
