I live a block away from Albany's Townsend Park, where the benches were removed ("Park's issues take a front seat," Nov. 23). I believe the park was improved by the removal of the benches.
I frequently saw the flashing lights of police cars and ambulances near the park when the benches were there. There doesn't seem to be as many problems now.
All people should have the right to use the park. But it was not being used appropriately or constructively. These adjustments were made, for the better, in my opinion.
